Jim has volunteered for numerous civic organizations serving youth.
Jim believes that in both saving for retirement (or any financial goal) and working to reduce one’s income tax burden one should take a “diet and exercise” approach. He believes that to meet one’s financial goals requires saving, maybe even spending less, patience and some help from the markets. In reducing one’s tax burden he believes that while one or two “big tax breaks” are out there, that it really takes many smaller individual tax-saving decisions to really reduce your income taxes. Jim believes he is able to serve his clients well by combining his tax expertise, and savings and investment philosophy. Jim has authored numerous newspaper and trade magazine articles on tax and investment issues.
Jim has been a long-time believer in index funds and taking a long-term passive approach to saving and investing. His investment philosophy is based on the fundamentals of Modern Portfolio Theory, building individual client investment portfolios that work to help clients get to their goals while all along the way considering the amount of risk they are able to live with. By primarily using passively managed asset class mutual funds, Jim and KEB Asset Management, LLC are able to implement proven investment strategies that focus on living within the client’s risk tolerance and working to meet the client’s goals.
